Consistent galloper RENEGED relished the soft going for a well-deserved victory at Canterbury on Wednesday over 1900m.

A patient ride from apprentice Rachel Hunt saw the 5-year-old gelding settle towards the rear of the field on the fence, saving ground. On turning for home Hunt angled out to find clear running and Reneged stayed on strongly to hit the lead late, holding on for a determined win.

He will now be aimed for a possible start in the listed Grafton Cup over 2350m.

Congratulations to his owners and connections!
